With its special combination of harp (Mirjam Rietberg), soprano (Anna Azernikova) and flute (Dasha Beltiukova), the MirAnDa Trio presents equally special music in a highly varied and fascinating programme.
Besides familiar and frequently performed work, the ensemble’s ever-growing repertoire also features obscure compositions discovered by the musicians and pieces that have been written especially for them. Ranging from baroque to contemporary, their repertoire includes not only works for trios, but also pieces for soprano with flute or harp, for flute with harp and solo pieces.
Mirjam, Anna and Dasha’s musical paths met at the Amsterdam Conservatory.
The threesome made their television debut on the VPRO programme Vrije Geluiden and have been broadcast repeatedly on radio programmes such as the Avro’s Spiegelzaal, named after the venue in the Concertgebouw where it is recorded.
Since their first concert in 2004, in Amsterdam’s English Church, the MirAnDa Trio has given concerts in several major chamber music venues in the Netherlands, including the Concertgebouw of Amsterdam and Vredenburg in Utrecht.
The three musicians performed several times in Moscow, as in the prestigious Moscow International Performing Arts Center (Dom Muzyki), and in Minsk, where their concert was broadcast on national radio and television. The Miranda Trio is a regular guest at music festivals both in the Netherlands and abroad, as recently at two festivals in France, where their performance was reviewed jubilantly.
Vin du Tsar |
According to local legend, during an official visit to France in 1908 Tsar Nicholas the Second so enjoyed the wines of Thezac that he immediately ordered a thousand bottles and French vintners decided to name their wine after him. In the 19th and early 20th centuries, the Russian-French relations were not only of gastronomic nature, but mainly in the cultural sphere. From this time, the Miranda Trio plays works by Debussy, Ravel, Caplet, Saint-Saëns, Liadov, Dargomizhsky and Glinka. |
Gitana |
Work of composers that have been inspired by gypsy melodies and music from the Spanish culture. Melancholic and exuberant work of Dvořák, Bizet, Saint-Saëns, de Falla, and Albeniz. |
Looking at music |
A collaboration with video artist Masha van Berkel, resulting in a classical concert with associative video. Musically, the program is equal to Gitana. |
The nursery |
A nice presentation of 45 minutes in collaboration with actor Guy Sonnen for children from 7 years, their parents, grandmothers and grandfathers. Music by Ravel, Mussorgsky, Cui, Tchaikovsky. |
